My daughter is in post secondary now. It is her second semester and there has been a few stressful things that have come up, making this semester especially difficult for her.

If any of you have read my posts on this blog, you know that my daughter has struggled with mental health for some time. As a mother, I am always at a loss of how I can help. There are so many things that I can't control and that I no longer get to make decisions on when it comes to her life. The only way I get to help is by being the best cheerleader I can be.

To help cheer my daughter on, I have created a 14 page print out of inspirational quotes which includes a motivational letter from mom. I cut out each quote and matted each onto colored paper, before placing them all over the walls in her bedroom and our office.

I wanted to share this file for others to use for their daughters. 

I hope you can use this to cheer your daughter on, and not only remind her how capable she is, but how loved she is as well.

Thinking today about my genealogy "The Larger Picture". I got to thinking about my Great x3 Grandfather; who l recently discovered was a large part of my city's history. I used to think that l would be happy, just coasting through life, taking care of myself. I never wanted to own any thing, as long as I could just "get through life". I am a 38 year old woman who grew up in moderate poverty in a new and coming neighbourhood of YEG in the 80's. I have found records showing my ancestor's living here in the late 1800's and those ancestors are part of history books now. I have learnt so much from putting one foot in front of the other through life.
